Mission
To increase public awareness of the benefits that bats provide us and the devastation being caused by White Nose Syndrome. To encourage Citizen Scientists to help our remaining bats by easily counting them in their maternity colonies. This site was created to make it easier to obtain this information and to download forms.
In the United States, bats are frequently and unfairly viewed as pests. However, In many Asian countries, bats are revered, and their importance to the ecosystem has been understood for centuries. In China, symbols of bats are frequently used in homes to represent health, wealth and happiness.
